Words and Humanity

shermanlakelogo

The venture consists of ten life-size, bronze statues of children and counselors interacting in front of beautiful Kellogg Hall at the Sherman Lake YMCA.  The statues encircle a 12′ “stele” (a pillar, usually engraved, inscribed, or painted, and set upright).

The interactive stele is the centerpiece adorned with raised words of character from top to bottom. The life-size bronze figures will be playing and learning in a field of wild flowers capturing a lasting message exemplifying the importance of building strong spirits, minds and bodies in our children along with good stewardship for our precious natural environment. This large task is the cap stone project for Kirk Newman and his career.

Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center dedicated this project 9/23/2013
